FOR MEntAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS

FASD Fundamentals Training

Clients with FASD and other neurodevelopmental trauma histories often don't respond to traditional therapeutic approaches. Symptoms overlap with multiple diagnoses. Progress is inconsistent. Standard interventions may inadvertently cause harm when brain-based differences go unrecognized. We need practical strategies to look beyond surface behaviors and address each client’s unique neurological needs, fostering more effective therapeutic interventions and support for individuals and families.

Our workshops equip clinicians and healthcare providers with evidence-based approaches to identify brain-based differences and implement effective assessment and intervention strategies. Gain the critical skills needed to provide tailored, brain-based support, collaborate effectively with colleagues, and achieve meaningful improvements in patient outcomes.

  • Increase awareness of FASD and neurodevelopmental trauma's clinical and mental health presentations
  • Develop proficiency with trauma-informed screening and diagnostic protocols
  • Adapting evidence-based interventions for FASD and neurodevelopmental differences
  • Working effectively with caregivers and systems
  •  Address provider self-care and trauma-informed organizational practices

FOR EDUCATORS & SCHOOLS

FASD in the Classroom Workshop

Do you work with students whose behaviors stem from brain-based differences rather than choice or defiance—students who understand the rules but struggle to follow them consistently? Many of these students require specialized support strategies beyond traditional behavior management. Students with FASD can struggle with developmental delays, memory problems, poor judgment, impulsivity, executive functioning, modulating emotions, social competencies, sensory difficulties, and adaptive functioning, which impact learning capacity.

Our trainings & workshops help educators gain practical insights and tools specifically tailored to help diverse and complex students succeed academically and socially by addressing the unique neurological challenges that impact their behavior and learning.

  • Recognizing FASD in educational settings
  • Why traditional behavior management doesn't work
  • Brain-based classroom accommodations that actually help
  • IEP goals and modifications specific to FASD
  • Supporting executive function, memory, and adaptive skills
  • Collaborating effectively with families and outside providers

Training Format:

  • Flexible 1-3 hour format tailored to your needs
  • Virtual, In-person, or Hybrid
